MILLER … “For wine, a huge increase, 1,700% tax increase on wine which is absolutely ridiculous, especially after what we went through in 2020 with not only COVID, but also wildfires.”
Those challenges of the past year, Miller says hit the wine industry hard …
MILLER … “Our tasting rooms across the state had an 80% drop in revenue. And then, overall, because we are able to sell direct to consumer and other ways, through wine clubs, etc. But, even with that, because of restaurants, it was a 60% drop in revenue overall for most of the wineries.”

My grandfather moved to Mesa County 77 years ago, a civil engineer who built bridges on the Grand Mesa. A goji berry tasting feast in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, was held virtually on Saturday afternoon to promote traditional Chinese health food in the local restaurant industry. Twenty-eight goji dishes, including asparagus and shrimp marinated in berry juice, goji tea and goji chicken soup were presented.
Goji recipe creations for the tasting party have accelerated the transformation and upgrading of the Ningxia goji industry. The regional Department of Commerce, Yinchuan municipal bureau of commerce and the Ningxia Restaurant Association jointly developed and promoted the new dishes.
